hite terms of service
Last updated: 22 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Dilip Khemani ("we", "us"), who publishes hite on Google Play. By creating an account or using hite, you agree to them. Please read them with the privacy policy at https://hite-ai.lockin-relay-7f3a.workers.dev/privacy, which explains what hite does with your data.
1. What hite is
hite is a study app for students in India preparing for JEE Main, JEE Advanced, MHT CET, BITSAT and board exams. It has lessons, practice questions, notes, an AI tutor (Ask AI), and an app lock that keeps the apps you choose locked until you have studied enough. hite is free and has no ads.
hite is not made by, linked to or endorsed by the National Testing Agency, the IITs, the State Common Entrance Test Cell of Maharashtra, BITS Pilani, NCERT, the Maharashtra State Board or any coaching institute. Exam names are used only to say what hite helps you prepare for.
2. Who can use hite
- hite is meant for students aged 13 and over. It is not for children under 13.
- If you are under 18, you need your parent's or guardian's permission to use hite. By using hite you confirm that you have it. Your parent or guardian agrees to these terms for you and is responsible for your use of hite, and we encourage you to read these terms and the privacy policy together.
- You need a Google account or an email address that you can receive mail at.
3. Your account
- Give true information when you sign up, and keep one account for yourself. Do not share it or use someone else's.
- Keep your password and your Google account safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings, then Account, then Delete account) or as explained at https://hite-ai.lockin-relay-7f3a.workers.dev/delete-account.
4. The app lock
- The app lock is a self-control tool that you set up yourself: you choose which apps to lock, how much free screen time you get, and the night lock times.
- To keep the lock meaningful, changes that make it looser (more free minutes, fewer locked apps, a shorter night lock) start the next day.
- Phone calls, messages, the camera, the clock, Settings and the keyboard are never locked. You can always switch the lock off in Android's accessibility settings, or uninstall hite.
- The lock depends on Android and your phone maker. It may not catch every app switch, and some phones stop it in the background. Do not rely on it for anything where safety is at stake.
5. Ask AI
- Ask AI answers come from an AI model (currently Google's Gemini), not from a teacher. AI answers can be wrong. Check important answers against your textbook, your teachers or the official answer key before you rely on them.
- Ask AI is for learning. Do not use it, or any part of hite, during a real exam or test, or to break your school's, coaching institute's or exam body's rules.
- Do not try to make the AI produce harmful, hateful, sexual or dangerous content, and do not put other people's personal details or photos of people in your questions.
- Use the report button on any answer that is wrong, offensive or unsafe. We read reports and use them to improve hite.
- Ask AI has daily limits so that it stays free for everyone. We may change the limits or the AI model, or pause Ask AI, at any time.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break any law, or use hite to harass, threaten or harm anyone;
- send content that is unlawful, sexual, hateful, violent, or that infringes someone else's rights;
- attack, overload, scrape or try to get unauthorised access to hite or its server, or get around the Ask AI limits;
- copy, sell or republish hite's lessons, questions or solutions in bulk, or build a competing product from them;
- reverse engineer hite except as Indian law allows.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law or safety stops us.
7. Content and ownership
- hite's lessons, explanations, solutions, notes, videos, design and code belong to us or the people who licensed them to us.
- Past exam questions are reproduced for study, credited to their exams (for example "JEE Main 2024"), and remain the property of the bodies that set them. Textbook examples and exercises are credited to their books.
- Your notes and your questions are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run hite for you, as the privacy policy describes.
- If you believe something in hite infringes your rights, write to hiteapp@gmail.com and we will look into it promptly.
8. No guarantees
We work hard to make hite accurate and useful, but it is provided "as is". We do not promise that it is free of errors, that it will always be available, that backups can never be lost, or that using it will get you any score, rank or admission.
9. Limits on our liability
As far as Indian law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost marks or opportunities, or lost data, and our total liability to you for anything to do with hite is limited to INR 1,000. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that the law does not allow us to limit.
10. Changes and ending
- We may update hite and these terms. If a change to the terms matters, hite shows it in the app before it applies; if you do not agree, you can stop using hite and delete your account.
- We may stop offering hite. If we do, we will tell you in the app at least 30 days before, where we can, so you can save what you need.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra have jurisdiction, subject to any right you have to go to a consumer forum where you live. Before going to court, please write to us so we can try to sort it out.
12. Contact and grievances
